Mode of action: Fatty acid synthesis inhibitor, by inhibition of acetyl CoA carboxylase ( ACCase). Selectivity between grasses and broad-leaves is attributed to the form(s) of ACCase present and the compartmentalisation of these forms within plant cells.
Uses: For post-emergence control of grass weeds in rice. Applied at 100 g/ha in tropical rice and 200-270 g/ha in temperate rice. For selectivity in Poaceae species.
Formulation: 97%TC, 15%EC.10%EW
Applications:
Cyhalofop-butyl does not present any useful pre-emergence activity. It can be applied from germination to the four-leaf stage of barnyard gras with granular formulations, and from germination to the six-leaf stage with liquid formulations. It is rainfast within 2-3 hours and has no residual activity.
